Young People from Wiener Neustadt and Haishu Open a New Chapter of Sino-Austrian Inter-school Exchange

In 2025, the youth delegation from Haishu District Children’s Palace of Ningbo travelled to Wiener Neustadt, Austria, for cultural and educational exchanges. During the visit, the delegation formally signed an educational cooperation agreement with BG/BRG Grimmergasse. The two parties agreed to establish regular youth exchange channels, carry out cultural study tours, artistic activities and other programmes, sowing seeds of friendship among young people from China and Austria.

From August 16 to 17, 2026, the friendly exchange group from the grammar school in Wiener Neustadt paid a return visit to Haishu, Ningbo. The group implemented the signed cooperation agreement and launched two-way educational and cultural dialogues among young people, marking a remarkable practice of Ningbo’s opening-up in education. The 11-member delegation consisted of Philipp, Municipal Councilor of Wiener Neustadt; Long Qin, President of the Austrian Chinese Musicians Association; the school’s STEM teacher, together with eight Austrian secondary school students.

Supported by the bridge built by the Austrian Chinese Musicians Association (ACMA), the two regions steadily advance inter-school cooperation, artistic exchanges and STEM programmes, fully demonstrating the fruitful achievements of Ningbo’s opening-up in education.
